Three major views on memory experiment tasks are contrasted in the present article: Traditional, dissociation, and context. Memory experiment tasks include recall, recognition, judgment, concept learning, knowledge-based learning, variants of
these
tasks and some other ones specifically designed for views on tasks, the dissociation and the context views emphasize several major characteristics in the classification of tasks, leading to a better understanding of and the construction of new
memory
tasks. Further issues on the task analysis and those including metacognitive tasks are discussed.
